Rider questioned re tactics from 1200m - instructions were to maintain momentum and if pace slowed to improve forward to eliminate any stop start tactics not suitable to gelding, which is one paced and cannot show any sprint in its race. After going forward at this point was forced to race 3 wide remainder as PRIMAL TOUCH maintained its position to its inside and was forced to race in this position for remainder. Trainer confirmed instrucitons and was satisfied with ride. Rider lost whip near 200m.

McMahon advised that early in the event he was brushed by another runner and when he attempted to place pressure on his mount near the 300m his foot slipped from his near-side iron, resulting in him becoming unbalanced and falling. As a result of this incident, I FEEL GOOD was obliged to avoid the fallen rider and was subsequently eased out of the event.
