Excalibrator When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, Jockey J Morris stated that the gelding was able to lead as expected, however, failed to quicken when placed under pressure and he attributed this to today’s prevailing track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered a minor laceration to its off hind cannon. Gold Coast 25/03/2017

Gingersnap Laid in under pressure in the early part of the straight, obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten approaching the 100m. Cessnock 05/06/2017
Powerful Flash Bumped at start. Shifted in makimg contact with running rail near 1200m. Rider questioned re disappointing performance - stated was intention to take up a forward position where the gelding failed to show any speed in the early stages despite his urgings. Added gelding commenced to weaken from 600m and again despite his urgings failed to finish the race off and proved most disappointing. Vetted - mild heat stress. Trainer advised barrier trial. Argo's Revenge Apprentice S. Alam, rider of BROWN LINES, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that at a point near the 800m he allowed his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of ARGO’S REVENGE, resulting in jockey J. Woodhouse having to take hold of that gelding and check his mount this stage of the race. Apprentice Alam was suspended from riding in races for a period of 10 days, to commence at midnight, 17 June and to expire at midnight, 27 June. Kilcoy 17/06/2017

Treasurer Joh Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Apprentice B. Ainsworth reported at scale that her mount hung out throughout, placing her at a disadvantage. Beaudesert 24/06/2017
Mumford Near 900m tightened for room between DIVINE UNICORN and KASCATA, which shifted in when taken in by YANKEE ROLLER, which was not sufficiently clear. A short distance later MUMFORD had to be checked and again was tightened for room between KASCATA and DIVINE UNICORN, which shifted out. Ipswich 31/05/2017
Golden Pass Near 800m had to be steadied from the heels of GO DAISY, which shifted in and away from VALDEANIE, which shifted in. Gold Coast 10/06/2017
Eyeronic Slow to begin. Raced three wide without cover throughout the event. On returning to scale apprentice A. Fancourt reported that in her opinion her mount resented the tongue tie and for that reason she had suggested to connections to remove this gear. Ipswich 23/06/2017
Ballina Bay Trainer B. Hudson reported to stewards that the filly had blood in the mouth after dislodging a tooth. Beaudesert 24/06/2017

Mudgee Road Riderquestioned regarding tactics. He said that two starts ago at the Gold Coast the horse was ridden in a more forward position as instructed. He added that at its last start the horse began awkwardly and lost ground, settling further back over an unsuitable trip. He further added that he was instructed to ride aggressively in the early stages to settle in a forward position. Trainer confirmed that instructions have been previously to settle in a forward position, however last start, due to circumstances, settled further back than anticipated. Averna Mountain Jockey M. Hellyer reported at scale that his mount was inclined to hang out throughout the event. Ipswich 30/06/2017

Major Consul When asked to comment on the performance, L. Tarrant stated that after racing comfortably just behind the lead it travelled well to the home turn, however when asked to respond at the top of the straight was reluctant to stretch out and was disappointing. He felt the horse may not have been comfortable in the rain effected conditions. Sunshine Coast 14/06/2017
Legal Stature Passing the 1500m made the first turn awkwardly and laid out and was then tightened when cramped for room by SHUDA KNOWN BETTER which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Lady Cromac Checked at the 700m by the riderless DATASTAR. Laid in under pressure for the majority of the home straight. Sunshine Coast 28/05/2017
Magic Ink Raced three wide without cover for the entire event. Beaudesert 24/06/2017
Abandonment Began very awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Commenced to weaken from 600m and finished a distant last. Vetted - no significant abnormalities. In light of today’s performance trainer advised filly to officially trial prior to next start. Trainer indicated to stewards intention to send the filly for a spell. Gold Coast 04/02/2017
Roses of Joy Severely hampered shortly after the start. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Gold Coast 03/06/2017

Five Stud Poker Slow to begin. Overraced in the middle stages. Rockhampton 22/06/2017
Victory Dance Hung out in the home straight. Shifted out abruptly approaching the winning post, making heavy contact with REDHAZE, then continued to shift out towards the outside fence, resulting in the apprentice S. Sweeney becoming unbalanced and eventually being dislodged. The horse then continued to break through the outside running rail and left the course. The horse was recaptured shortly thereafter and underwent a veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. Warwick 06/06/2017

Cartagena Raced fiercely and had to be restrained from the heels of ABERLADY for some distance passing the 1300m. Shifted wider approaching the 1200m. Continued to overrace in the middle stages. Sunshine Coast 12/04/2017
Lynyrd Skynyrd Tightened for room and lost ground at the start. Forced wider near the 800m and continued to do so from that point onwards. Warra 01/07/2017

Scotty Be Gotti Shifted in and made contact with another runner passing the winning post on the first occasion. Eagle Farm 21/01/2017
Magic I Am A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare had a slow recovery and was exhibiting an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer T. Edmonds was advised that prior to the horse racing again he will be required to produce a veterinary clearance, including the results of an endoscopic examination. Sweet Shamrock Slow to begin. A short distance later was hampered when tightened for room between runners. Held up in early stages of the home straight. Vetted - revealed gelding sustained laceration to the near fore cannon. Gold Coast 25/06/2017
Hope Island Passing the 600m became held up on heels and was unable to improve until being steadied and shifting out abruptly away from heels at the entrance to the straight. Coffs Harbour 25/06/2017
Infinite Reign Over-raced during the early and middle stages. Gold Coast 25/03/2017
Licitra Rider reported from wide barrier and with early speed drawn to his inside he was obliged to restrain the filly to obtain a position closer to the fence at the rear of the field. Gold Coast 25/06/2017
Dyfield When qst re perf of geld, rdr std, whilst horse has preciously won on a heavy track, today it was not entirely comfortable in the conditions & never travelled at any stage.
