East of Midnight Checked from heels after passing the 800m when the pace slackened. Inconvenienced by another runner near the 450, then raced greenly and was inclined to lay in until approaching the 300m, and had difficulty securing clear running for a short distance after passing the 300m. Falcon Way Lost its near-side winker approaching the 1100m. Rider stated instructed to find cover and anticipated settling midfield, however when mount began awkwardly and was then crowded was obliged to settle at the tail. Swippa da Mouse slow to begin. On pulling up near the 1500 metre crossing, improved onto the heels of DUBLEO’S LAD and blundered, resulting in app N Keal being dislodged. SWIPPA DA MOUSE continued to gallop riderless for a considerable distance before being recaptured. A post race veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any abnormality. App N Keal was examined by QAS medical staff and cleared of any injury. Esk 01/07/2017

Magic Street Jockey J. Morris reported it had not been his intention to lead, however the horse began quite well out of the barriers and as a result he elected to ride forward. Sunshine Coast 09/07/2017
Don't Play Around When questioned re disappointing performance, rdr stated the filly hung out throughout the event proving difficult to ride, and tended to overrace during the early stages. Rdr further added in his opinion the filly may have resented the application of the cross over nose band, and further may be better suited by dropping back in distance at its next race start. A post race veterinary examination did not detect any abnormalities. Stable representative agreed with the comments of rdr, and advised stewards it would now be the intention to drop the filly back Grafton 12/07/2017
 
Race 6
Pure Whisper Jockey reported gelding blundered badly on 2 occasions passing 600m and again leaving 500m and as such was reluctant to place it under pressure in home straight. Added in his opinion gelding failed to handle today’s heavy conditions. Trainer agreed with jockey's comments. Gold Coast 08/07/2017

Switch At Midnight Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up entering the home straight. Became awkward on heels near the 300m, and shifted across heels to obtain clear running. Bumped by another runner near the 50m. On return to scale, jockey J. Oliver reported that his mount was inclined to lay in in the home straight. Toowoomba 08/07/2017

Race 7
Falkirk Drive Slow to begin and then blundered shortly after the start. Passing the 800m commenced to over-race and got its head up on a number of occasions. Held up rounding the home turn. Disappointed for a run approaching the 250m and was then held up to a point passing the 100m when unable to obtain clear running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing soreness at flexion of the near fore fetlock and near fore knee. Gold Coast 03/06/2017
Dallinger Rider reported gelding failed to travel comfortably at any stage in today’s heavy conditions. Gold Coast 08/07/2017
Mystyko Over the concluding stages had to be steadied to avoid the heels of IN AKITA, which shifted out under pressure. Stewards issued jockey J. Lloyd, rider of IN AKITA, a severe reprimand. In assessing the incident, stewards believed jockey Lloyd’s actions were careless in failing to stop riding and straighten his mount, however were not satisfied that the interference suffered warranted a suspension of his licence. Eve's Jet Had to be checked when awkwardly placed at the heels of runners passing the 700m. Momentarily tightened between runners at the 400m when DASHING WIN shifted in slightly. Severely hampered passing the 300m when GLENTURRET improved into a narrow run to the inside, forcing EVE’S JET outwards on to the heels of VOANABA and in doing so became unbalanced and blundered, almost dislodging its rider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer L. Kelly advised that he would inform stewards should anything come to light in coming days. Beaudesert 26/01/2017
Star of Pompeii When overracing passing the 600m was steadied from the heels of another runner which shifted in marginally. Held up rounding the home turn and was forced to shift to the inside in the early stages of the home straight to secure clear running. Ipswich 23/06/2017
