A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Trainer stated that in his view the gelding had raced like a tired horse and would now be sent for a spell.

Oliver reported that the gelding travelled comfortably throughout the event, however when placed under pressure from the 500m, his mount failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. Jockey Oliver added that, in his opinion, the horse failed to handle the prevailing track conditions tonight.
