After being ridden forward in the early stages, was forced to race wide and was then eased to take up a position midfield. Finished a distant last. Kickstart My Heart	Rider questioned re performance - noted gelding was up in distance today and in his opinion failed to run out todays 1800m. Trainer stated gelding may not have been suited by slow tempo in middle stages after rider allowed SIDETRIP to cross forward to lead passing 1000m. Noted 2 starts ago gelding failed to run on strongly in a similar run race over 1400m. Considered gelding may have been better suited remaining in lead where it could have dictated terms and for this reason he was undecided if it was suited over similar distances to today's event. Eve's Jet	Had to be checked when awkwardly placed at the heels of runners passing the 700m. Momentarily tightened between runners at the 400m when DASHING WIN shifted in slightly. Severely hampered passing the 300m when GLENTURRET improved into a narrow run to the inside, forcing EVE’S JET outwards on to the heels of VOANABA and in doing so became unbalanced and blundered, almost dislodging its rider. I Am the Sculptor	Rider questioned re disappointing performance -stated gelding overraced whilst there was a fast tempo in early stages and may be better suited over a shorter distance than that of today. Stable representative agreed with rider gelding did not run out strong 1600m and indicated intention to give gelding a short freshen up. Vetted - found to be short striding in front. Magnajoy	Raced wide early before obtaining cover leaving 700m. Rider questioned re tactics - stated given no specific instructions however, was hoping to obtain a handy position with cover. Added after beginning on terms with runners drawn to inside concerned that if he elected to push forward he would be caught wide and thus restrained in an attempt to secure clear running, resulting in him racing further back than originally anticipated. More Than Money	Rider questioned re tactics rounding home turn when ONE GOLDEN DAY, which was racing to his inside was able to shift out forward him to secure clear running. He stated that when tempo increased passing 500m he attempted to improve with ONE GOLDEN DAY but was unable to do so, which allowed that runner to shift out forward of him. Stewards advised rider had erred leaving 500m by not placing enough pressure in an attempt to prevent ONE GOLDEN DAY shifting out.	Gold Coast	19/08/2017
Secret Puzzle	Blundered shortly after start. Rounding 1st turn blundered behind & shortly after hurdled shadow. When quest re perf. rdr stated mount began awkwardly & he rode along to settle forward. Rdr stated mount travelled well but responded only fairly to pressure in straight. Rdr stated mount weakened over final 150m & fact it had to work hard early & was 1st up, told over latter stages.
