Rider added that his mount was pushed three wide at the 700m and that his mount failed to respond strongly to pressure in the straight and weakened over the final 200m. Grylls reported her instructions had been to attempt to lead in today’s event, however after beginning very awkwardly she was unable to do so. She added that the horse has had a tendency in the past to race field shy and being positioned at the tail of the field did not suit the horse, which did not travel comfortably at any stage of the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Noted last start the mare found itself in the lead in early stages, which wasn't his intention following which it performed poorly. The start prior to that at Ipswich similar tactics as today were adopted and it performed well. Explanation noted.
