Rdr stated he improved from 400m however round h/t had to check mount when awk on heels. Rdr stated mount failed to sprint strongly in straight & was disapp. Tnr advised would be spelled. Rdr suspended for failing to ride geld out for final stride.

Stewards inquired into the performance of the horse. Trainer’s representative Mr Michael Morrison was interviewed. He indicated following the horse’s last start in January blood tests had been performed and prior to the horse being sent for a spell. Stewards adjourned the inquiry for a report of these blood tests to be supplied to stewards in the coming days. Stewards advised Mr Morrison that the horse would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to racing again as it had been uncompetitive in today’s event. A post race veterinary examination reveal no abnormality.

Colless as to his reasons for when overracing in the middle stages not continuing to race forward to the lead after obtaining a positon outside the lead. He indicated the horse’s racing pattern has been to race with cover and if at all possible he wished to remain in a position with cover. Stewards noted the explanation.
