T. Brooker reported at scale that when her saddle slipped after travelling a short distance, she was placed at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. She added that she failed to test her mount in the home straight as she became concerned with the filly’s action and over the final 200m she eased the horse down. Stewards accepted T. Brooker’s explanation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant findings.

MISHANI WICKED was fractious in the enclosure and after being mounted reared dislodging its rider. Was examined by the veterinary surgeon in the enclosure and cleared to proceed to the start. After arriving at the barriers a further veterinary examination of the filly cleared it to start. Rounding the home turn had to be steadied when placed in restricted room between runners.

Rdr stated his mount began fairly & it was apparent early that runners inside were going to compete for lead so he elected to ease back to obtain cover at the rear of the field.

He indicated that the horse, after failing to respond to his riding in the early stages of the home straight, became awkward in its action and for this reason he did not ride the horse out over the final 200m. He added that in his opinion the horse did not handle the rain-affected conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a slow post-race recovery.
