When qst re the quick pace that he set, rdr std after commencing fairly, following crossing a rnr and leading the gelding raced keenly and set a fast tempo. Rdr added his reluctance to place too much pressure on the horse to come back as the gelding has shown an inclination in the past to resent being restrained and accordingly, rdr aimed to have it settle and race comfortably. He added that from the 600m, he elected to allow the gelding to improve forward in an endeavour to establish a more sizable lead entering the home straight.
