Kendrick regarding the tactics adopted as the horse was positioned in the lead in today’s event, which was in contrast to the horse’s established racing pattern. L. Tarrant indicated that he had been given no specific instructions, however did pressure the horse out of the barriers and was not surprised to have the horse show speed today as it was racing for the first time in blinkers and therefore he was satisfied to allow the horse to stride forward to the lead. Slightly slow to begin, and then failed to muster early speed. On return to scale, jockey M. Du Plessis reported that the filly raced greenly and was reluctant to stretch out in the early stages, however from the 600m it commenced to travel more strongly and ran on reasonably in the home straight. He added that, in his opinion, the filly would be better suited with the addition of blinkers moving forward in its preparation.
