Go Darcy Began awkwardly. After being caught wide approaching the first turn allowed to stride forward to obtain a position closer to the rail passing the 1300m. After passing the 300m when placed under pressure laid in before being corrected by its rider. Then over the final 100m when placed under pressure laid out. Doomben 11/03/2020

Just Wishing Slow to begin. Commenced to overrace passing the 1200m and approaching the 1000m improved on to heels and had to be restrained. Improved on to heels approaching the 100m and went to the line without being fully tested. Doomben 18/03/2020
Radical Spirit Stewards questioned rider L. Tarrant and trainer S. Kendrick regarding the tactics adopted as the horse was positioned in the lead in today’s event, which was in contrast to the horse’s established racing pattern. L. Tarrant indicated that he had been given no specific instructions, however did pressure the horse out of the barriers and was not surprised to have the horse show speed today as it was racing for the first time in blinkers and therefore he was satisfied to allow the horse to stride forward to the lead. Gamma Slightly slow to begin, and then failed to muster early speed. On return to scale, jockey M. Du Plessis reported that the filly raced greenly and was reluctant to stretch out in the early stages, however from the 600m it commenced to travel more strongly and ran on reasonably in the home straight. He added that, in his opinion, the filly would be better suited with the addition of blinkers moving forward in its preparation. Toowoomba 26/02/2020

Nicosmile Connections advised that it would be the intention to have the horse ridden in a more forward position as the horse has not been performing well when ridden in the second half of the field. Rumberella Blundered on jumping. Unable to improve approaching and rounding the home turn when held up on heels. A post race examination of the gelding revealed it lost its near fore plate in running. Grafton 03/03/2020
Evie Matilda Inspected by the veterinary surgeon behind the barriers after making contact with the outside fence en route to the barriers and was cleared to take its place in the field. Sunshine Coast 08/03/2020
Monashee Ridge Fractious leaving the enclosure. Rider dislodged en route to the barriers, taking a seemingly harmless fall, remounted and fulfilled her engagement. Laid in approaching the 400m and then again in the home straight, and over the concluding stages bumped LEGS UNBARRED. Kilcoy 28/02/2020

Asvatara Slow to begin. Rider reported that the horse was making an abnormal respiratory noise during the event. A post race veterinary examination confirmed the horse was making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer B. Harden advised that the horse must undergo an endoscopic examination prior to starting again. Sunshine Coast 21/02/2020
Broken Windows Bumped on jumping. Near the 700m shifted in and bumped another runner. Unable to improve approaching and rounding the home turn when held up on heels. Grafton 03/03/2020
Centenary Star Checked on jumping and lost ground when GIVE HER ROOM shifted out. Leaving the 900m was inconvenienced and steadied from the heels of MISHANI PHANTOM when that runner was checked and then obliged to shift wider on the course. Compliance Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the performance of the filly rdr stated that he was instructed to ride his mount in a forward position however his mount was slow to begin and settled at the rear of the field. Rdr stated his mount raced greenly throughout the event being inclined to lay in away from other runners. A post race veterinary examination of the filly did not reveal any abnormality. To spell. Shackles Raced wide in the early stages before being permitted to stride forward to a position outside the lead passing the 1100m. A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which weakened badly in the straight, revealed no abnormalities. Jockey M. Cahill indicated he could not explain the performance, which he considered disappointing. He felt the horse had travelled well until after being placed under pressure and then weakened badly in the final 400m. Trainer reported the horse to be sore in both front heels post race. Commissioner When asked to comment on the seemingly improved performance today, Trainer J. Smerdon explained that COMMISSIONER was having its first start for him today. The gelding has pleased him in its work leading up to todays event including performing well in a recent jump out and trial and he expected a forward showing in todays event.
