Near the 900m shifted in when not fully clear of PRINCE OF MINE, and was advised by stewards to exercise more care. Raced ungenerously in the early stages and commenced to hang out from the 800m, and as a result near the 600m AIRLIE BEACH had to be steadied. The horse continued to hang out and near the 400m, JACKOH was taken wider on the track. A post race veterinary examination of ICE WARRIOR failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Connections were advised that ICE WARRIOR will be required to trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.

Jumped away awkwardly. Shortly after the entrance to the straight shifted out abruptly away from EXPLOSIVE GIFT, which had improved to his inside onto SILENT SWAY, which was obliged to be steadied. From inside the 200 metres until in the vicinity of the 100 metres was inclined to shift in and away from SILENT SWAY, which had improved to the outside of the gelding. Trainer Mr D. Shepherd was advised the gelding would be required to perform to the Stewards satisfaction in an Official Barrier Trial prior to accepting for a future race. A post vet examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
