Brooker said she was not given any specific instructions, but after jumping well she elected to push forward to clear runners drawn to her inside. Shifted out, lost ground and overraced passing the 1400m when restrained from the heels of a runner which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Chasing the Dragon  Rider questioned re tactics. Rider stated that it was not his intention to settle as far back, however after travelling a short distance he did not want to be committed to racing on the rail so he attempted to maintain a one off position, however other runners had improved around him he was forced to settle further back and on the rail. He added that we was unable to improve into the race as he would have liked as he was held up behind other runners under pressure. Trainer stated he was surprised to see it settle as far back, however agreed with riders comments.  Ipswich  13/05/2016

Il Padrone  rider reported at scale raced further back in field than anticipated and was not suited by slow pace in early and middle stages of the event. Disappointed for a run between runners rounding the home turn, then obliged to shift wider in home straight to obtain clear running.
