Jockey M. Palmer stated that his mount settled in a handy position and travelled fairly. M. Palmer added that from the 600m his mount was under pressure to maintain its position, was very disappointing in its run to the line & felt reluctant to stretch out on the firm track conditions. A post race veterinary examination revealed it to be mildly lame in the near hind leg & expelling air from its rectum. Trainer Mr B. Dais undertook to provide the results of a blood count on the gelding in the coming days. Mr Dais was advised that a warning would be placed on the competitiveness of the gelding.

She said that the filly had adopted its usual racing pattern and was unable to muster early pace , however had finished the race off well. Apprentice was of the opinion that the filly will be better suited in races over further ground in future.
