Bogenhuber reported following the race that the filly failed to travel strongly on the bit during the event and when placed under pressure failed to respond to her riding and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer’s representative Mr P. Sexton advised that the filly will now be sent for a spell.

Began awkwardly. When quest opening sizeable lead in middle stages rdr stated she was inst to lead & make it a staying test. Rdr stated whilst she would have liked slower sectionals mount was well held on the bridle & she did not want to restrain it & hace it overrace. Tnr confirmed inst but expressed disapp at tempo set. In assessing matter stewards appreciated at 2 last starts, over similar distances, geld has led events, held at a moderate tempo & on both occasions weakened out of event.

When questioned regarding the poor performance jockey J Mallyon stated that the gelding never travelled well at any stage of the race and in his opinion may not have backed up from racing last Wednesday. Trainer L Ross agreed with jockey Mallyon’s comments and said in view of its performance today he would recommend to the owners to send the horse for a spell. A post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
