When questioned regarding the improved performance of the filly, Trainer K Doughty explained that they had expected the filly to perform credibly at its first start however, the filly was disappointing. The filly has since had a spell and has worked well and trialled well leading in to today’s event and she expected a better performance today to coincide with what the filly displays in track work. Stewards noted the explanation.

As jockey J. Orman was to be overweight, jockey R. Fradd was substituted as the rider of the horse. J. Orman was fined $200. Jockey R. Fradd reported that he was disappointed with the horses performance and believed that this could be attributed to the horse overracing during the early and middle stages. He advised that connections would consider removing the blinkers from the horse for its next start in an attempt to have the horse settle.
