When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of the mare foreman stated that at its last start the mare failed to handle the heavy track conditions being inclined to dip and blunder. Foreman added the rider eased the mare out of the race from the home turn and it was not tested in any capacity down the straight. Foreman re iterated that the mares form prior to its most recent start was sound.

Lloyd explained that connections instructed him to endeavour to have the horse race to the outside of other runners, however after beginning awkwardly he was initially covered by TERRA SANCTA and when that horse went forward, then raced inside of TEMPA MENTAL and that YEPPOON therefore was off the bit most of the way and never travelled comfortably. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Jockey B Grylls explained that it was not her intention to settle that far back in the field but after obtaining a trailing position was shuffled back due to the tempo slowing and horses improving around her.
