He indicated after entering the home straight and placing the horse under pressure it became awkward in its action and felt that the horse may have bled and for this reason did not ride the horse out over the final 200m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer T. Edmonds was advised that the horse would be required to trial satisfactorily in an official trial prior to its next race start. He indicated that the filly appreciated the step up in distance to 1400m, adding at its most recent starts riders had been instructed to lead if possible, however over shorter distances this had not been achievable, and felt being able to obtain the lead today and dictate the pace in a longer race was the explanation for the improved performance.
