Bumped on jumping. When quest rdr stated he wanted to lead but mount lacked early speed and settled behind leaders. Rdr stated mount does not have a sprint and eased 3 wide to work into event from 600m. Rdr stated mount failed to let down strongly & only ground to line. Rdr stated mount raced dour & is looking for more ground. Tnr agreed with sentiments of jockey & advised it would be spelled. P/R vet exam no ab's.

Forced wide approaching the 600m. T. Brooker advised that at no stage of the race did the horse travel. She added that the horse has not appreciated soft racing surfaces in the past and she felt that this may have been a contributing factor today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the horse had moderate heat stress, and a swab sample was taken.

J. Byrne explained that he was aware that the winner, EL SHADAY, was shifting in near the winning post and for this reason he stopped riding two strides prior to the post. Whilst stewards were satisfied that jockey Byrne’s riding did not cost him 3rd place, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the end of the race.

Change of tactics. Connections advised that the horse would be ridden back in the field if circumstances permit. On jumping away was restrained heavily and ridden at the tail of the field. Commenced to overrace when the pace slackened approaching the 1200m and as a result shifted out near the 1200m to avoid heels and remained overracing until approaching the 600m.
