Rider stated that the gelding which was racing first up today was stirred up in the enclosure and was feeling the effects of the warmer weather. He added that his mount raced keenly in the run and was then left without a finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying a poor post-race recovery and had lost its near hind plate and was found to be 1/5 lame in that leg. Stable representative was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding racing next.
