When questioned by Stewards as to the disappointing performance, jockey J. Oliver reported that the gelding travelled comfortably throughout the event, however when placed under pressure from the 500m, his mount failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. Jockey Oliver added that, in his opinion, the horse failed to handle the prevailing track conditions tonight.

When questioned regarding the horse’s improved performance, trainer G. Sitek explained that the gelding has been racing over shorter distances from wide barriers and as a result has raced wide, which he felt reflected its performances. He added that today the gelding was able to settle in a good position close to the rail and the step up in distance also had an effect on its performance. Stewards noted his explanation.
