Jeptoo JEPTOO – when questioned regarding below market performance, rider C Eaton stated the mare races best when ridden with cover, and after being caught wide failed to run on when placed under pressure from the 400 metres. Nanango 31/03/2018

Race 4
Margot Commenced to weaken shortly after entering the straight, and brushed the running rail on its own accord on a number of occasions. When questioned by Stewards regarding the performance, jockey N. Tomizawa advised that the filly has been racing for a long period of time and has travelled from Melbourne to Toowoomba and, in his opinion, may be at the end of its preparation. Trainer B. Currie advised that it his intention to send the filly for a spell. Stewards noted the explanations. Toowoomba 02/12/2017

Odelia Near the 200m has hampered. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Ballina 15/02/2018
Zenkali Began awkwardly and bumped heavily with DATASTAR, resulting in apprentice A. Sewell becoming unbalanced and falling from his mount. Ipswich 11/08/2017
Ultroneous Forced very wide on the track by another runner rounding the turn near the 400m. Dalby 05/04/2018
 
Race 5
Airlie Reward Stewards questioned apprentice T. Williams regarding her tactics when racing three wide throughout. She indicated that in the early stages she saw an opportunity to position her mount behind LIMESTONE COWBOY in a one-off position, however, AIRLIE REWARD overraced badly and she unable to restrain the gelding sufficiently to cross behind the heels of LIMESTONE COWBOY. She said she then elected, after the 800m, to allow the horse to stride in a three-wide position rather than continue to fight the horse. Stewards accepted the explanation. Sunshine Coast 06/04/2018

Magic Kitty Questioned re performance, rider stated unable to take up anticipated forward position due to early speed drawn inside and obliged to restrain to obtain cover further back in the field. Raced wide with cover but failed to travel comfortably at any stage of the event and proved disappointing. Trainer reported horse pulled up well and was disappointed in performance. Would aim to step it up in distance and down in class. Vet exam revealed no significant findings. Beaudesert 02/04/2018

Race 6
Mustarrid As the gelding’s bubble cheeker had become detached and was unable to be located, Stewards permitted it to race without that gear. Overraced in the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an abrasion on the gelding’s off hind bumper. Toowoomba 07/04/2018
Bouchard Clipped heels and blundered near the 550m when attempting to obtain a narrow run to the inside of YEEZY. Toowoomba 07/04/2018
Strike Sika Had to check off heels near the 1300m. Raced in restricted room from the top of the straight until after passing the 100m. Ipswich 11/04/2018
Glamorgan Babe Hampered at the start. When questioned regarding the horse’s performance, apprentice C. Gallagher stated that the mare commenced to weaken leaving the 600m and as he was concerned with its action he elected not to fully test the mare over the final 400m. Apprentice Gallagher was of the opinion that the mare failed to handle the step up from 1200m to 1650m today. Trainer questioned. Refer Stewards Report. Vetted post-race, no abnormalities. Perforation A post race veterinary examination revealed mild heat stress and had sustained an abrasion to the off side stifle. Sunshine Coast 01/04/2018
