She said that shortly after straightening for home she shifted her mount to the outside, where she attempted to place it under pressure, however when struck with the whip it shifted out abruptly and raced greenly. |

Jockey stated that from today's wide draw he rode his mount along in the early stages and was able to obtain a position outside the leader, where it travelled comfortably. |

When asked about the performance of the gelding Jockey A. Coome was of the opinion that it failed to run out a strong 1800 metres, however had travelled well until near the 400 metres then failed to run on and may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was showing a poor post-race recovery rate. Trainer G. Farrell informed stewards that the horse will now be spelled and he will confine its races to distances up to 1600 metres. |
