When questioned regarding his tactics and his riding of the gelding Jockey stated that prior to beginning his mount was fractious in the barriers and slipped back slightly. He stated that he attempted to ride the gelding along in the early stages in an endeavour to fulfil his instructions, however because of the way it began, the horse did not show sufficient speed and was quickly crossed by other runners and settled in a handy position. |
