When questioned as to why he did not improve his position near the 600 metres, Jockey said his instructions were to not bustle the gelding early and that after beginning well he was able to obtain a position where his mount travelled comfortably, however he was mindful not to ride the gelding along from too far out, as he believed that it has only one finishing effort. Trainer confirmed the instructions.A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding was sore in front. Trainer was told a veterinary clearance would be required prior to next start.
