When questioned regarding her mount racing back in the field, Jockey said that she was instructed to lead, if possible, however, after beginning reasonably well, she rode her mount along in an attempt to comply with her instructions. However, when runners to her outside showed superior speed she elected to take up a position with cover and from that point her mount raced keenly. |

When questioned regarding the poor performance of the gelding Jockey explained that after being crossed near the 1300 metres, her mount never travelled comfortably and when placed under pressure rounding the home turn faied to respond. She added that in her opinion the gelding performs best when able to dictate terms in front. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be dehydrated. Trainer undertook to report back to the stewards in the days subsequent.
