Near 900 metres eased from heels.Rider questioned re performance stated he was not issued with specific instructions, however he anticipated being able to obtain forward position. After beginning only fairly he was of the opinion that he would have to work hard and race wide to obtain forward position, so he elected to race back in the field. He added that this was detrimental to the horse's performance. The mare went to the line well and would derive benefit from the race.
