Stewards questioned Apprentice S. Lacy and trainer A. Clark in relation to the tactics and performance of her mount. Apprentice Lacy stated that her instructions were to go forward if the horse began well, however it stood flat-footed and missed the start. She then attempted to stay one off the fence, but was unable to do so and the horse over-raced in the early and middle stages. Apprentice Lacy added that towards the home turn she managed to get to the outside and her mount sprinted only fairly.
