Hampered shortly after the start and hung in rounding the home turn. Stewards questioned trainer L. Wright regarding its improved performance. Mr Wright stated it had trailed well leading into today’s event and expected a good showing. Mr. Wright also added that at its previous start its jockey had an issue with the whip and reins rounding the turn which may have disadvantaged his runner, he also stated that at its only other start it had raced greenly and ran wider on the course.
