In the vicinity of the 1100m had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of GLOBAL ROCKET. When questioned regarding MEATBALL settling at the rear of the field in today’s event, jockey A. Sewell stated after being slow to begin was mindful that MEATBALL had a tendency to overrace in its previous races and elected to attempt to settle his mount into the race. He added MEATBALL raced keenly in the middle stages but finished the event off in a positive manner. He further added, in his opinion, MEATBALL would be better suited racing over shorter distances.

When questioned regarding the horse racing further back in the field in today’s event, jockey A. Sewell stated that after jumping only fairly and rather than being trapped wide elected to take hold of his mount and race further back with cover, but after attempting to take a position behind the leaders was shuffled further back than intended and as a result raced at the rear of the field. He added his mount laid out under pressure in the straight.
