Approaching the home turn had to steadied from heels when racing erratically. Raced greenly throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the near hindleg. Redwana Jumped away awkwardly. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Apprentice Rabjones stated that REDWANA began only fairly but was able to settle into a comfortable position. She added when asked for an effort on entering the straight, failed to respond to her riding and weakened noticeably. A post race veterinary examination revealed an abrasion to the near fore leg and an elevated heart rate. Trainers representative reported that REDWANA would be spelled. A post race sample was taken.
