Jumped out abruptly at the start. Jockey when questioned in relation to his riding of the gelding in the home straight advised that he believed his best option was to ride hands and heels over the concluding stages and keep the horse balanced as he was of the opinion that the gelding would not have responded any better had he used the whip.
