Apprentice G Willoughby was reprimanded for failing to claim down to her declared riding weight. Stewards questioned apprentice Willoughby in relation to her riding over the concluding stages of the event. Apprentice Willoughby advised that upon jumping away the gelding commenced to hang out and shifted wider on the track. She added that once in the home straight the gelding again had a tendency hang out and proved difficult to ride out and for that reason she didn’t place the gelding under pressure over the concluding stages.
