When questioned regarding his riding of the mare in the home straight rider stated that in his opinion his mount had failed to respond to his urgings over the final stages due to the soft track conditions. Chain the Gate  Jumped awkwardly, dislodged the rider. Inspected by the ambulance officers and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements. Stewards viewed the available patrol film to ascertain the gelding had been afforded fair start. Fly Once More  Knuckled on jumping and was hampered when tightened for room between runners. Rider reported concerns about welfare of mount and did not ride gelding along, and it took no competitive part. A post-race veterinary examination immediately after the event did not reveal any abnormalities. Dotherighthing (NZ)  Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding its performance, the rider stated that gelding was disappointing. He was mindful that it usually showed pace, however as this was the first time with blinkers, it had failed to race well and suggested to remove the blinkers and step up in distance. Trainer J. McConachy confirmed that the blinkers will be removed for its next race start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that gelding was displaying a slightly slower recovery rate. A small amount of blood was observed in the back of the horse's throat.  Rockhampton  16/07/2015
