Born to Survive  Jockey S. Sheargold was questioned regarding the performance of the horse. He stated he had pressured his mount early and due to the speed of the race was unable to maintain a midfield position and raced at the rear of the field, adding that after placing it under pressure late in the straight he was of the view the horse was looking for further distance.   Mackay  8/01/2016

Son of a Warrior  J. Stanley reported that his mount lay in until it was able to find a position on the running rail.  Rockhampton  2/01/2016

Fast Focus  Immediately following the race trainer J. McConachy advised stewards of his concerns with the ride of apprentice M. Murphy. Following this, stewards took evidence from apprentice Murphy, accompanied by Jockeys Advocate D. Tanti, and also Mr McConachy and adjourned the matter to a time and date to be fixed.  Rockhampton  2/01/2016 
Kuaima  Crowded for room and had to be steadied shortly after the start. Shifted in and away from another runner rounding the turn near the 600m and made contact with the rail, resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced and ultimately having to restrain his mount out of the race. BON TEMPS, which was following, having to be checked and lost ground. Trainer Mr M. Evans was advised that gelding must perform competitive in a trial prior to racing again.
