Torch  Rider stated that the gelding travelled comfortably in the early stages but failed to respond to her riding over the final 400m. She added that in her view the horse was not suited on the firm conditions today. Lakota Sioux  The start was delayed when the horse proved difficult to load. A warning was placed on the horse regarding its pre-race manners. Raced greenly and leaving the 800m improved onto heels and hung out. The horse then continued to race greenly and hang out and was unable to be fully tested in the home straight, resulting in the rider being obliged to stop riding on a number of occasions. Trainer Mr B. Wakefield was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse regarding its racing manners.

Cuban Song  Prior to the declaration of correct weight jockey T. Bell viewed the official video footage to establish if he had grounds to lodge a protest against Limited being declared the winner. As T. Bell and the stewards were satisfied that there were insufficient grounds correct weight was declared. Eased momentarily when bumped close to the finish line. Zoe Bay  Weakened from the 300m. Inquiry re performance. Rider indicated that the horse travelled well until leaving the 400m, then raced greenly and not responding over the final 300m. She added on return to scale the stablehand handling the horse indicated the filly appeared to have its tongue over the bit and this may have caused the poor performance. Trainer M. Mair indicated that the distance of today's event may not have been suitable for the filly at this stage of its preparation, adding he may trial the horse before its next race start. Quelle Liaison  Raced three wide without cover. After passing the 200m was struck across the face with the whip of another rider. When questioned regarding the horse's poor performance, R. McMahon stated that after being caught three wide to the home turn, the horse failed to respond to his riding under pressure and in his opinion was disappointing. Balaklava  Rider dropped her whip approaching the 200m. Tightened for room and had to be checked over the concluding stages. Rider questioned in relation to her riding after passing the 900m as she had obtained a position outside the lead one off the fence and after being crossed near the 800m then was positioned three wide outside the lead. Jimmy Twists  Checked near the 550m when HILDESHEIM hung in. Rider reported that after the interference suffered near the 550m, the gelding did not travel comfortably for the remainder of the event and tailed off. Post race vet exam - no abnormalities.  Charleville  28/03/2015

Munster  When questioned regarding the improved performance, stable representative Mrs C. Dunn reported that the gelding failed to handle the heavy conditions at its last start when resuming from a spell. Mrs Dunn added that the colt had been gelded prior to resuming this preparation.

Bashan (NZ)  Stewards questioned rider J. Byrne regarding the performance and his tactics. He stated that due to interference occurring forward of him near the 800m and because of the steady pace being set in the event, he shifted wider on the track rather than steady from heels. He added that he was wide as a result of this, however the horse travelled well into the home straight and was doing its best work over the concluding stages and he was pleased with the overall performance.  Sunshine Coast  29/03/2015

Colour Charge  Raced wide for the majority of the race. Jockey D. Browne reported that his mount, which was having its first start back from a spell, was not suited to the distance of today's event and, in his opinion, would take benefit from the run and would be suited to races of 1400m and beyond.

Narcissus  Jockey D. Brown was questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the horse. He stated that his mount never travelled at any stage throughout the race and could offer no explanation for its disappointing performance. The only explanation trainer S. Iverson could offer was that the horse may not have backed up from its previous start on 29 November 2014.
