Avalanches  When questioned re seemingly improved performance trainer stated that he had not been disappointed with the gelding's previous 2 runs, which were over shorter distances than that of today's event when returning from a spell. Double Impact  Apprentice C. Schmidt stated that the gelding wasn't suited when the race developed into a sprint home over the final 600m, however was disappointing in that it failed to make any ground in the home straight. Lovethebeaches  when questioned, trainer Mr S Hodge stated that, whilst stepping up from
2100m at its last start at Gosford on 26 May 2015 when it was beaten for pace early, it was
expected over the 3200m today Lovethebeaches would be more forward. He added,
although it had not been his instructions to lead, he was surprised that the mare was able to
lead by such a substantial margin.

Mister Impatience (GB)  App. B Loy stated he was under no specific instructions, other than to take up a forward position on the gelding and, if the tempo was not strong, to assume the lead. He added that he was able to obtain slow early sectionals in the lead but, in retrospect, given the gelding was coming back from 3000m last start, he should have placed his mount under pressure sooner than he did on this occasion.A post-race veterinary examination
did not reveal any abnormalities. Stable rep expressed dissatisfaction with the ride in that App. Loy should have placed his mount under pressure sooner than he did.

Bush Caviar  On return to scale, rider B. Newport reported to stewards that his mount commenced to hang out rounding the turn near the 800m, which resulted in him pressuring the leader despite his attempts to come back and sit at the girth of that horse in the middle stages of the event. He added that from the 500m, BUSH CAVIAR shifted wider on the track despite his efforts whilst hanging out, which resulted in him being unable to fully test his mount until entering the home straight.   Toowoomba  30/05/2015

Total Authority  Bumped at the start. When questioned, K. Yoshida reported to stewards that approaching the home turn it was his intention to shift to the outside of ON ICE NOW in a three wide position to obtain clear running, however when his mount failed to quicken as he expected, which he attributed to the horse carrying the top weight today, he elected to shift to the inside in the home straight when clear running presented itself, however the mare ran on only fairly over the concluding stages.  Dalby  7/02/2015
