Devilish Duke  Rider M. Hellyer reported that in his opinion the horse may have got its tongue over the bit. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer B. Herne indicated that he would experiment with the addition of a tongue tie. Just Keep Giving  R. Wiggins reported it had not been his intention to lead, however in the early stages he pressured the horse slightly to improve past another runner and as a result the horse overraced badly from that point onwards.  Sunshine Coast  2/08/2015 
That's Magic  Rider M. Morris reported that, in his view, his mount may have come to the end of its preparation and did recommend to connections to send the horse for a spell.

Fifteen Love  Improved onto heels when the pace slackened near the 1300m and had to be checked and was then ridden forward to the lead at a point passing the 900m. Apprentice B. Kirchner  Held up rounding the home turn. When questioned as to the tactics adopted, Jockey A Spinks stated that at the mare's previous start the intention was to take up a mid field position with cover. However, on that occasion the mare was inclined to over-race and as a result settled closer to the speed than anticipated. Jockey Spinks stated that similar instructions were issued today, however, from the awkward barrier he was obliged to settle further back than anticipated.   Gold Coast  1/08/2015

Gallivanting  When asked to explain the horse's seemingly improved performance, trainer M. Mair indicated that the horse's first start this preparation was over an unsuitable distance, being 1000m, and he was disappointed with the horse's most recent start, however the rider had indicated that the horse had shown a tendency to be somewhat field shy. He indicated that today's performance was somewhat surprising as he had not expected such a forward showing.  Sunshine Coast  2/08/2015

Williams reported that the gelding overraced in the early stages and she was unable to restrain the horse, causing her to hold a significant lead during the middle stages and this also had a detrimental effect on the horse's overall performance.  Sunshine Coast  2/08/2015

Court the Geisha  Upon arriving on course stable advised that filly had pulled a shoe earlier that morning and could not be replated. Stewards acceded to a request that the filly race bare behind. Jockey dropped his whip near the 150m. Deb's Spirit  Made contact with another runner in securing clear running passing the 400m. When asked to comment on the seemingly improved performance, trainer T. Miller indicated that the horse had been caught wide at its 2 most recent starts and was of the view that jockey C. Whitely being able to position DEB'S SPIRIT on the fence from the wide alley was of substantial benefit to the horse's chances today and, in his view, was the difference in the performance.  Sunshine Coast  6/06/2015
