Patapinda  When asked to explain the seemingly improved performance, trainer P. Duncan indicated that at the horse's must recent start, in his view, the gelding was ridden quite poorly and when overracing was settled wide on the track. He felt that this had a significant effect on the performance. Mr Duncan added that at the start prior to this the horse did not appreciate the firm racing surface at Dalby on 9 August and he felt that this may explain the improvement on the horse. He was also of the view that the addition of blinkers today was beneficial.   Sunshine Coast  2/09/2015

Mair had some concerns with the horse after arriving on course and subsequently requested it be examined by the veterinary surgeon, which subsequently found no obvious abnormalities.
