Jumped awkwardly, making heavy contact with the barrier partition, losing ground, causing the horse to be positioned in the second half of the field. Held up rounding the home turn and in the straight until approaching the 200m when tightened for room and restrained. Inquiry re performance. Apprentice L. Tarrant stated after beginning awkwardly, the gelding overraced and was reluctant to settle at the rear of the field, which was further back than anticipated. He added passing the 600m the gelding was travelling comfortably but after being held up near the 200m, only found the line fairly. |

D Browne stated that the horse did not show its customary early pace.He was therefore obliged to race 3 wide without cover.Browne was of the view that approaching the 400m the horse was not travelling and did not respond to his riding from that point and was disappointing in the run to the line.S Kendrick indicated that the horse was disappointing. He did report the horse had a minor laceration to the outside of the off fore canon. He agreed that the class of today's event was a step up from the horse's most recent start. He reported that the horse would now have a short spell. |
