Ted D. Browne advised stewards that it had not been his intention to lead, however the horse had initially shown a tendency to overrace when asked to settle and therefore he elected to allow it to stride forward to the lead. Sunshine Coast 10/02/2017
Laudable Lemon Held up rounding the home turn until approaching the 300m. Then laid out under pressure for the remainder of the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Sunshine Coast 12/02/2017
Sheza Yankee Slow to begin. Rider questioned re performance - stated filly failed to travel comfortably throughout and was reluctant to stretch out and proved most disappointing. Vetted - no abnormalities. Gold Coast 11/02/2017
Fordyce Knight Stewards questioned L. Tarrant as to his tactics, particularly his reasons for riding forward and holding a position in the lead when it appeared he had opportunity after passing the 1200m to steady to take up a midfield position. He advised stewards that whilst it had been his intention to ride the horse in a forward position, he initially felt that he would be able to settle behind the lead one off the fence outside THE OVERDRAFT, however, when UNCHARTERED and OMNIA MARKA TAYADA commenced to place pressure on his mount near the 1000m when not clear, he elected to push forward in order to rel Sunshine Coast 19/02/2017

Murt Reynolds D. Browne reported that during the event his mount gave the impression that it resented the use of the whip. Sunshine Coast 10/02/2017
Kingaroy As the float was held up in traffic en route the course, the horse underwent a veterinary examination after arriving at the track and was cleared to start. Raced wide in the early stages, however was permitted to stride forward to a position outside the leader near the 1100m. Sunshine Coast 10/02/2017
Tempa Mental Slow to begin. Unable to improve rounding the home turn when held up on heels. Approaching the 200m was obliged to ease out around heels to continue to improve. Approaching the 100m was steadied when buffeted between runners. Jockey W. D'Avila advised he was unable to place his mount under full pressure from this point as his left foot had shifted in his iron. Grafton 13/02/2017

Idalia's Dream Tightened for room and had to be severely checked on jumping away. Overraced at heels approaching the 900m. Inconvenienced and disappointed for a run near the 500m before having to be checked from heels. Had further difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight. Airlie Man Jumped awkwardly. Became unbalanced near the 800m when being steadied. Doomben 07/09/2016
Dasterdly Dan Laid out under pressure in the home straight and shifted out near the 200m, making contact with PRIMAL TOUCH, and then continued to lay out under pressure and was hampered and steadied near the 50m when tightened for room between PRIMAL TOUCH and LAUDABLE LEMON, which shifted out under pressure. Apprentice C. Bayliss, rider of LAUDABLE LEMON, was reprimanded for failing to stop riding and straighten his mount. Sunshine Coast 12/02/2017
Haylee Prince Was obliged to steady from heels near the 600m when the pace slackened. The horse then raced greenly until entering the home straight. Sunshine Coast 12/02/2017
Real Machine Shifted out abruptly at the start despite the efforts of its rider, causing interference to other runners. Jockey M. Cahill reported that his mount hung out throughout and became progressively worse under pressure in the home straight, placing him at a disadvantage over the concluding stages. Mandarosso Bled from both nostrils, first time. Ineligible to race for 3 months and before resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward. Sunshine Coast 23/10/2016

Top Peak Examined by the veterinary surgeon prior to the start after coming into contact with the outside fence and dislodging its rider behind the barriers. Apprentice T. Brooker reported it had not been her intention to lead, however the horse began well and she was unable to obtain cover. Sunshine Coast 12/02/2017
Code One Slow to begin. Following the disappointing performance of the horse, trainer J. Dann advised that he would now review the horse’s immediate racing future Warwick 08/10/2016

Real Good Rider M. Cahill obliged to take hold and lose ground at approximately the 900m. Apprentice Z. White pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that at approximately the 900m she shifted in whilst riding her mount along when insufficiently clear of SIROCAN, which resulted in that horse being taken in onto the rightful running of REAL GOOD, resulting in jockey M. Cahill having to take hold of that horse and lose ground at approximately the 900m. Jobiwood Laid in and bumped the running rail rounding the first turn. Eased after improving onto heels near the 600m. Murwillumbah 07/02/2017
Vainacious Worked strongly towards the barriers in its preliminary, resulting in the saddle shifting. The horse was then examined by the veterinary surgeon, cleared to start and resaddled. Shifted in near the 850m, momentarily tightening another runner, which had to be restrained. Jockey N. Summers was issued with a severe reprimand. Mackay 15/12/2016
