Day of the Fox Steadied from heels near the 500m, shifted out and then was held up for clear running rounding the home turn until the 300m. Sunshine Coast 24/02/2017
Idalia's Dream Stewards questioned D. Browne regarding his tactics from the 600m as this horse was held up from approaching the 500m until leaving the 200m. Jockey Browne explained that after passing the 600m he shifted off the fence and secured a position behind MAXWELL, which he believed was a chance in the event and which he felt would take him into the race in the home straight. Jockey Browne agreed that his mount was travelling quite well during this section of the event and indicated that near the 400m he had considered shifting back to the inside, however that position quickly closed shortly afterward Sunshine Coast 26/02/2017
Rahdane Connections advised that the gelding would be ridden mid-field or worse – After beginning well and without pressure, settled in a handy position. Lost near hind plate at the 1000m. Gold Coast 25/02/2017

Good Judge During the middle stages was inclined to race keenly and set strong tempo after being pressured forward to obtain the lead. Lismore 24/02/2017
Lonnero Stewards questioned jockey S. Doyle regarding the tactics he adopted whereby his mount raced wide throughout in a small field. Jockey Doyle stated that his instructions were to lead, however the gelding, after beginning only fairly, failed to show sufficient speed despite his urgings to take up the lead and as a result raced wide throughout. He added that in hindsight it may have been a better option attempting to restrain when racing wide in an endeavour to obtain cover. He further added that the gelding was under pressure leaving the 700m and proved disappointing over the concluding stages. Ipswich 17/02/2017

Kingaroy Protested against winner, dismissed. Jumped awkwardly. Tightened for room shortly after the start and had to be checked. R. Wiggins reported that it had been his intention to position the horse in a forward position, however after suffering interference at the start he was obliged to settle at the rear of the field. Magnus Cor Got its head up and tended to overrace when being steadied approaching the first turn. Finished a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the horse had bled from both nostrils. Trainer S. O'Dea was advised that the horse would be ineligible to race for 3 months, and prior to resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward. Eagle Farm 03/09/2016
