Bungle Boori M. Hellyer said that the mare did not muster early speed, was at the tail of the field, and when pressured from the 600m commenced to hang out. He added that when placed under heavy pressure from the 400m the horse changed stride and raced more tractably and although having some difficulty securing clear running when improving on to the heels of weakening runners, finished the race off nicely and was doing its best work over the concluding stages. Pinolino Jumped in the air at start losing ground and as a result settled further back in the field than anticipated. Leaving 500m steadied to avoid the heels of another runner. Ipswich 19/04/2017
Bold And Groovy When afforded the opportunity to comment on the performance, Jockey N Thomas stated that the gelding travelled well throughout the race until a point passing the 600m when the gelding failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. Lipstick Lover Began awkwardly. Rider std mount which was first up was very one paced & was not suited by the slow tempo. Primed for Destiny When questioned regarding the improved performance, stable representative for trainer J. Walk advised that mare raced first-up over an unsuitable journey on a heavy surface last start, and today’s better track conditions over 1000 metres were factors which contributed to the improved performance. Victory Eight Apprentice A. Sewell reported that whilst the gelding had previously won on rain-affected tracks, in his opinion it failed to handle the track conditions today. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Doomben 01/04/2017
Ima Showman Shifted out abruptly near the 100m. Apprentice A. Sewell, rider of IMA SHOWMAN, was advised in similar circumstances he must endeavour to straighten his mounts sooner than he did on this occasion. Sunshine Coast 05/04/2017
Nearctic Chiller Jockey R. Wiggins reported at scale that, in his opinion, his mount did not appreciate the firm track conditions today. A post race veterinary examination of the horse revealed cardiac arrhythmia. Connections were advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily and the results of an ECG provided to stewards prior to its next race start. Doomben 01/02/2017
Light Shows Slow to begin. When questioned as to the disappointing performance, Jockey Anthony Allen explained that the mare was fractious in the barriers and slow to begin and never travelled comfortably during the race and was disappointing in the home straight.
