Our Fire And Ice Shortly after the start the cap came off the helmet of jockey J. Lloyd. This displaced jockey Lloyd’s goggles and as a result when racing behind other runners leaving the 700m, jockey Lloyd’s vision was impaired due to the kickback. He then attempted to adjust his goggles, which he was unable to do until approaching the 500m, which had an effect on his mount’s position as the filly lost ground during that period. Marveloos Began awkwardly. Had a tendency to hang out throughout the event, placing its rider in some difficulty. A post-race examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer B. Ahrens advised stewards that he would make alterations to the horse’s gear prior to its next start, however Mr Ahrens was nonetheless advised that the mare must trial to the satisfaction of stewards before racing again. Ellersley Trainer K. Schweida advised that it would be the intention to have the horse ridden more positively. After beginning awkwardly and losing ground the horse settled near the rear of the field. Sunshine Coast 17/03/2017

Bia Tyche Bumped heavily on jumping. Made the home turn awkwardly and had a tendency to lay out and then approaching the 200m was momentarily held up and had to shift wider on the track to obtain clear running. Ipswich 21/07/2017

Bold Heart Commenced to overrace when the pace slackened approaching the 1000m, had to be restrained from the heels of THE SNOW QUEEN and then shifted three wide to improve. Ipswich 21/07/2017
Wimpole Street Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and had to be checked when awkwardly placed at heels in the early part of the home straight. Ipswich 21/07/2017

Valleseco J. Lloyd explained that just prior to straightening he was of the view that his mount may have been struck from behind. He said because of this he immediately became concerned with the horse’s action and commenced to ease the horse down. He added that whilst being eased it made an abnormal breathing noise. Laudable Lemon when questioned regarding the poor performance to be beaten 26 lengths rider T Chambers stated the gelding appeared to resent the sand kickback from the 600 metres onwards and further would derive fitness benefit from the run.
