Morris reported that it had been his intention to ride the horse in a more forward position, however after being slightly slow to begin was obliged to settle at the tail of the field. Overraced in the early stages. Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

Over the concluding stages was unable to be ridden out fully to the line, when awkwardly placed close to heels. When q'd re perf, rdr std was ridden the maintain post and trav only fair, rspd on straight, however compound final 200m. PR vet rev p/recovery and elevated HR. Trnr said gelding will not race on heavy track in immediate future, will remove blks and ride in a position with cov.
