Buxton Slow to begin. Raced with its head in the air when being steadied near the 700m and was very erratic, resulting in the gelding losing significant ground. Apprentice S. Lacy reported to stewards that the horse had made contact with her head in this incident. Apprentice Lacy was examined by the Club doctor who reported that no injuries were detected at the time of examination. Sunshine Coast 06/08/2017

Galtero Approach the 1100m when being restrained to obtain cover, had to shift out to avoid the heels of PRINCESS CAVALLO, which was hanging out. Raced wide from the 800m until entering the home straight. When questioned regarding the performance, apprentice A. Fancourt stated that after being caught wide in the early stages she elected to restrain her mount near the 1100m to obtain cover. She added that near the 600m she attempted to improve into the race and was obliged to race wide, and, in her opinion, the gelding did not appreciate racing on the tight turning circuit. Ma Raison J. Byrne reported his mount felt short in its action on return to scale. A post race veterinary examination found the horse to have lost its off fore plate in running, but no other abnormality detected. Sunshine Coast 30/07/2017
Moss Go Now Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight. Gatton 28/07/2017
Crimson God Slow to begin. Disappointed for a run upon straightening and then had difficulty obtaining clear running until passing the 200m. Gold Coast 22/07/2017
Slalom Prior to the event, connections advised Stewards that it was the intention for the horse to be ridden in a forward position today if circumstances permit. After being slow into stride, the horse settled at the rear of the field. Apprentice M. Schrapel allowed his mount to stride forward to take up a more forward position when racing keenly near the 1200m, and as a result was forced to race 3 wide for the remainder of the event. In Akita A post-race veterinary examination revealed the suspected presence of mucous due to an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer D. Bell was advised to have an endoscopic examination carried out on the horse prior to its next start. Sunshine Coast 23/07/2017

D'amore D'merrier Jockey L. Cassidy could offer no tangible explanation for the disappointing performance of the horse. Connections advised that they would consider sending the filly for a spell, and undertook to report to stewards any abnormality that comes to light that may explain today’s performance. Bar Fly Barrister Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight and was again obliged to alter course after passing the 300m. Sunshine Coast 28/05/2017
Hallside Rebel Blundered at start. Held up rounding home turn. Then difficulty securing clear running early stages of home straight before again being held up over concluding stages. As a consequence went to line without being fully tested. Gold Coast 02/08/2017

I'm Just Pink L. Tarrant reported at scale that his mount felt sore and for this reason he was reluctant to pressure his mount over the concluding stages.. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer R. Wilson’s representative, Ms D. Sullivan, expressed her disappointment in the performance and undertook to report to stewards anything that comes to light in coming days which may have had an effect on the performance. The Perpetrator Jockey B. Pengelly advised he was disappointed with the overall performance of the horse, adding that the gelding did not travel comfortably throughout the event and when asked to improve near the 600m failed to respond and found the line only fairly. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer P. Duncan confirmed the stable’s disappointment in the performance, however was unable to offer any explanation, and gave an undertaking to report back to stewards in the coming days of any abnormality that comes to light. Kickstart My Heart Difficulty securing clear running between 200m and 100m. Questioned re tactics early stages - App. Bayliss stated instructed to obtain forward position but if tempo was strong obtain cover behind leaders. When DEVILS FIRE pressed forward passing the 1200m concerned if maintained position to inside would have resulted in strong tempo. Elected to restrain and obtain cover behind Devil's Fire afterwich tempo slowed considerably. Advised ought to have maintained lead in early stages. Gold Coast 05/08/2017
Venetian Beauty Hampered between runners shortly after jumping. Momentarily hampered rounding the home turn when attempting a tight run to the inside of FAVOURED GRACE, which shifted in marginally, and then was held up and unable to improve from the 250m until approaching the 70m where it obtained clear running and finished the race off strongly. Cape Denison Stewards inquired into the reason for the mare being severely checked near the 300m. Whilst it was established that after passing the 400m a run had presented itself to the inside of STAR OF COLUMBIA, that horse weakened significantly and shifted in at a point near the 350m. This resulted in CAPE DENISON being disappointed for a run to the inside of that horse shortly after and caused apprentice Lacy to check the mare. Stewards could not attribute any blame to any rider and took no further action. Apprentice S. Lacy reported the horse had a minor laceration to the off foreleg post race. Sunshine Coast 30/07/2017
High On You Slow to begin. When quest re failure to test mount in any capacity over final 100m rdr stated near the 100m runner to his outside shifted in & he was concerned if he continued riding along he would be carried in onto another runners heels. Rdr added that clear running presented passing 50m however his mount was well beaten at that stage. Ballina 18/07/2017
