Red Phantom Slow into stride. Near 1200m when pace steadied, improved onto heels and had to be steadied. Gold Coast 30/09/2017
Two Amor Stewards asked jockey R. Fradd to comment on the tactics adopted on the gelding. He indicated that with the addition of blinkers first time to the horses gear he had been instructed to attempt to take up a forward position, which he endeavoured to do so by riding aggressively from the barriers. He indicated the horse did not have sufficient speed to cross ROCKY GAMBLE to his inside and as a result approaching the first turn he attempted to steady to trail that horse, however at the same time the pace of the race slackened and he was able to restrain the horse sufficiently to manoeuvre behin Sunshine Coast 24/09/2017

Race 2
Powerful Flash Jockey R Plumb reported that the gelding was not suited by todays slow tempo during the early and middle stages and was left flat-footed when the tempo increased passing the 500m. Jockey Plumb added that the gelding may not have appreciated todays firm surface. Gold Coast 16/09/2017
Dazzle Us Again Rounding the home turn became unbalanced when bumped heavily by KARAKA LASS. Stewards asked jockey M. Cahill to comment on the performance of the horse. He indicated that after being bumped after passing the 600m the horse came off the bit and weakened from that point onwards. Trainer D. Aristocat When asked to explained the performance, jockey D. Browne stated that the horse is still green and would take benefit from the race experience today. He added that the colt finished the race off quite well in the straight and, in his view, will be better suited in races over longer distances than that of todays. Sunshine Coast 22/09/2017

Locus Began awk & was inclined to hang out & raced intractably in early stgs. When qtd regarding perf, rdr explained never travelled comfortably & raced ungenerously. Said after est clear running in straight mount was reluctant to imp between runners & race greenly under pressure & was dis in its efforts to line. Post race vet exam no abs. Trnr concurred with rdr & explained geld sweated up & was uncharacteristic in behaviours during preliminary. Advised would be his intention for geld to be spelled. Grafton 29/05/2017

You Dont Say Molly Refused to settle in the early stages and hung out from the approaching the 800m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be showing signs of a poor post-race recovery. Trainer S. Bogey Man Inconvenienced by other runners at the start and taken in across the heels, then was reluctant to stretch out for the remainder of the race and finished tailed off. Mackay 01/07/2017
Dapper One Apprentice M. Murphy reported that the hores pulled up making an abnormal respiratory noise. A post race veterinary examination revaled the horse to be suffering from heat stress and making an abnormal upper respiratory track noise. Trainer L. Ross advised that he had the horse scoped upon return to his stables, the results of which confirmed that DAPPER ONE was suffering from a respiratory complaint. Ameridon Jockey M. Cahill reported his mount was very disappointing in the run to the line. He indicated the horse had to work a little bit in the early stages when pressured in the lead, however the horse failed to respond to his riding over the final 400m. Trainer L. Birchley confirmed his disappointment in the performance and would look to experiment with the horses gear in trackwork and attempt to have the horse ridden with cover if possible at its next race start. Pressway Stewards asked apprentice M. McGillivray to comment on his tactics and the overall performance of the horse. He indicated after beginning well he took hold as he had been instructed to obtain a position behind the lead with cover. He was happy with the position he obtained approaching the first turn and when MORION improved past his mount approaching the 600m he considered shifting to a position behind that runner, however he did not feel his mount was travelling well enough and he was also of the view he would obtain a run to the inside of that horse when rounding the home turn.
