Proved disappointing. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, apprentice A. Sewell stated that the gelding travelled reasonably well in the early and middle stages but when asked for an effort after straightening, failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than that the horse had a slightly slower than normal post-race recovery rate.

Mr Andrew advised that at its previous start the horse drew a wide gate and was trapped off the track on that occasion. He added that at its prior start to that the horse had had an interrupted preparation leading into that event and he was of the view that on that occasion the horse did not stretch out on the firm surface. Added passing 600m obliged to ride mare along, at which point it failed to respond as anticipated. Further added approaching 200m obliged to shift out to secure clear running after which the mare finished race off fairly. Given these circumstances rider not overly disappointed with performance.
