Queachy The start of this race was delayed when the horse had to be reshod in the tie-up stalls after losing its near hind plate. The start was further delayed when the gelding broke through the barriers prior to the start and galloped a short distance, however was quickly restrained, returned to the gates, examined by the veterinary surgeon and was found to have sustained a minor abrasion to the off side nostril, however was cleared to take its place in the field. Sowhat Imarockstar Placed in an awkward position near the 900m and had to be eased. Placed in restricted room for a short distance passing the 600m. Laid in under pressure passing the 400m and had to be steadied to avoid heels as a result. Sunshine Coast 11/02/2018

Remarkable Son When the pace slackened after passing the 1200m was obliged to steady from heels and lost ground. Raced 3 wide and then shifted wider passing the 600m to improve and raced without cover from that point onwards. Sunshine Coast 04/03/2018
Midnight Delight Rider questioned re performance - stated mare travelled well early and middle stages but failed to respond as expected when placed under pressure leaving 600m. He was of the opinion mare better suited on rain affected surfaces. Gold Coast 21/02/2018

The Sheepish Lion The veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding sustained lacerations to the near hind leg consistent with being galloped on and was bandaged on course. Beaudesert 01/03/2018

Lips 'n Hips Correct weight was delayed to ascertain whether the horse afforded a fair start. Stewards ascertained that as the start was effected Lips ‘N Hips, which was being handled by a barrier attendant, reared as the gates opened, making contact with the overhead partition, losing considerable ground. Subsequently stewards found that the horse was not impeded by the attendant and declared the horse a starter. Apprentice jockey A.
