Questioned re tactics specifically the tempo set in the early and middle stages of the race. explained that his instructions were obtain the lead as the gelding has performed best when adopting those tactics previously. Jockey Sewell added that passing the 1600m he realised that he would be unable to cross AUDREE which was over-racing to his inside, after which he was content to remain racing to the outside of that runner. Bearing in mind his instructions to lead he was reluctant to restrain CASINO GARDENS to a position behind AUDREE at that point.
