Bloomin' Arry Shifted out near the 500m to improve and in doing so made heavy contact with another runner. Stewards questioned jockey A. Sewell regarding his riding from the 400m onwards and as to whether he had ridden with sufficient vigour from that point. Jockey Sewell explained that he had bumped another runner approaching the home turn in order to attempt to secure clear running, however this caused his mount to become unbalanced and the horse did not travel comfortably from that point. He added the horse was held up for clear running passing the 400m behind the tiring LEBRON, before he was afforded Sunshine Coast 08/04/2018

Delago Edition Steadied from heels near the 1000m when the pace slackened. Bumped by another runner near the 500m and shifted wider on the track. Sunshine Coast 08/04/2018
Mista Point slow to begin. Steadied and shifted wider on the track rounding the 1200 metre turn. When questioned regarding below market performance, trainer L Wanless stated that it would now be his intention to restrict racing MISTA POINT on grass surfaces, and would also look for races over a longer distance than todays event. Bauhinia Drum Bumped at the start. Raced three wide. Sunshine Coast 13/10/2017
Currumbin Craft Held up for clear running approaching the 400m and shifted out in attempt to secure clear running and in doing so made heavy contact with another runner, causing both horses to become unbalanced. Rider S. Cormack was reprimanded in relation to this incident and advised to exercise more care. Laid out badly under pressure from the 350m, causing its rider to pull the whip through to the nearside and causing its rider to ride hands and heels from approaching the 100m. Saipan Improved on to the heels of WIGGLESWORTH passing the 800m, clipped heels and blundered, and then a short distance later clipped the heels of LIFE’S LIKE THAT and blundered. Ipswich 28/03/2018

Ecker Road Kicked out in the barriers and sustained a minor abrasion to the nearside hock, which was noted upon examination by the veterinary surgeon, and was cleared to start. T. Brooker reported that approaching the 600m her mount commenced to hang out and then hung in under pressure in the home straight and was very disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination, in light of the performance, which was below market expectations, found further lacerations to the front of the nearside hock which had not been noted pre-race. Miss Severina Rider reported mare failed to travel comfortably at any stage and in his opinion was not suited to today's track conditions. Ipswich 04/04/2018

Casino Gardens Questioned re tactics specifically the tempo set in the early and middle stages of the race. explained that his instructions were obtain the lead as the gelding has performed best when adopting those tactics previously. Jockey Sewell added that passing the 1600m he realised that he would be unable to cross AUDREE which was over-racing to his inside, after which he was content to remain racing to the outside of that runner. Bearing in mind his instructions to lead he was reluctant to restrain CASINO GARDENS to a position behind AUDREE at that point. Sunshine Coast 18/03/2018

Crystal Amor Forced to race three wide after passing the 1000m when racing to the outside of DYNASTIC and did so for the remainder of the event. Made the home turn awkwardly. Beaudesert 13/04/2018

Race 8
Calypso Bay When qst re disappointing performance rdr std from wide barrier was instructed to ride the horse conservatively. Further std that gelding traveled well and passing 600m commenced to improve into the race & was confident would close off well. Rdr said however that approaching home turn, made contact with another runner and became under pressure and despite endeavours to have gelding improve, failed to respond & weakened noticeably over concluding stages. Trainer reported gelding will now be spelled. Canterbury Park 01/12/2017
Takarakka Stable representative advised the horse would be ridden with cover today if circumstances permit. The horse was unable to obtain cover and consequently raced outside the leader. Gold Coast 29/11/2017

Mystic Moon J. Lloyd reported following the event that his mount got its head to the side just prior to the start being effected, which resulted in the mare missing the start. He added that MYSTIC MOON did not handle the track conditions today. Doomben 21/03/2018
Make Her Own Whey Steadied shortly after the start. Raced 3 wide without cover. Jockey M. McGillivray reported at scale it was not his intention to ride forward, however the mare was forced to race wide and did not respond to his riding in the straight. Magic Season Trailed the field and weakened badly over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse was suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Connections were advised that the horse must undergo a ECG, and would be required to trial in an official trial prior to its next race start. Sunshine Coast 26/12/2017
